¡VIVE LA VIDA! Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrate this month with us when we remember the Independence Days of several Latin American countries. In California, we have a rich history that began even before the Spanish settlers, but that has continued to enrich our lives through the art, language, music, food, culture, and a fraternal sense of community in our Spanish-Speaking communities. We have several ideas and activities that we will share on a weekly basis that will make this month a special one so, ¡Vive la vida!

Other things to do:
Make a playlist of Hispanic artists to listen to.
Ask a friend or relative who grow up in a Latin American country what life was like growing up there.
Enjoy a classic Latin American dish at a local restaurant.
Support a Hispanic or Latino-owned business.
Take a dance class.
Play a game of lotería or dominoes.
Binge a Spanish-language TV show.

Things to watch:

Daniel Garcia is working in the family bakery and doing everything that his loving Cuban parents and siblings expect him to do, until his life changes unexpectedly on a wild Miami night with a chance encounter with Noa Hollander at a fancy restaurant. Noa is an international superstar, the daughter of a real estate magnate and a successful model, just out of a high-profile Hollywood relationship. Sparks fly between the two and the unlikely couple must decide whether to upend their lives to be together, pulling their families into an inevitable culture clash.

Fools Rush In (Prime video) PG-13
Two unlikely people end up falling in love inadvertently. As their relationship develops, the two realize how much their upbringing in language, religion, culture, and family clash! Tons of laughs as they poke fun at each other's differences.
