On February 8, 2016 at the Krikorian Premiere Theater in Old Town Monrovia, the Mayor and City Council of Monrovia presented their annual State of the City Address to report the progress of the entire Monrovia community on pertinent topics and accomplishments the City has accomplished over the past year. Eight members of our student leadership team were present to represent COHS and enjoyed a meal from McDonald's as well as popcorn and water during the presentation.

Monrovia Unified School District is working closely with the Monrovia Police Department in regards to the LAUSD bomb threat. At this time, there is no threat to Monrovia Unified School District. Schools will be open and follow their regular schedules. Officers will be around our schools today to provide reassurance, not in response to any threats. In an effort supported by members of Zeta Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Seventh Annual Youth Leadership Conference's theme is "Communication." It will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2016 on the campus of the University of La Verne, 1950 Third Street La Verne, CA 91750. This conference caters to the needs of African American young men who want to focus on college preparation, entrepreneurial skill development, life skills and much more! This field trip is sponsored by MUSD and will take place on Saturday, Nov 15. We invite boys and parents to join us for this special event! All expenses paid by the school district: registration fees, breakfast, lunch and transportation for first 50 students and 20 chaperones. We will meet at MHS at 6:00am and be back by 3:30pm.

Heather Mercieca was sworn into office as the 2015-16 Mountain Park/COHS student representative on the board of education on October 7, 2015. She hit the ground running by sharing with the board a little bit about herself and her future aspirations.
Two 5th Grade Classes at Plymouth Elementary will learn key 21st century skills this fall from Mountain Park Stand-Out Senior.
